Control Reliability
SCHMERSAL's family of safety controllers
provide the safety circuit monitoring,
fault detection, and control required
to meet the requirements for "control
reliability" ... and satisfy the
highest levels of assessed risk. All feature
positive-guided relays.
In
addition to sensing the actuation of an
E-stop, machine guard interlock, light
curtain/beam or pressure mat; modules
(depending on your model) can detect the
following types of potential safety circuit
faults:
• Welded interlock or E-stop switch
contact
• Misaligned guard
• Open circuits, short circuits
or guide faults
• Faults in the module's monitoring
circuits
• Welded/stuck contacts in the controlled
output motor contactor/control relay
• Inadequate supply voltage to module
• Capacitive/inductive interference
or module's inputs
